Cleaning and maintenance instructions for XShear trauma scissors

Daily cleaning:

• Can be cleaned with commercial disinfectants or bleach solutions .
• Rinse with plenty of water and dry the scissors , as some substances cause corrosion.

Lubrication:

• Add a drop of lubricating oil to the pivot point and the surface of the scissors – it improves function and protects against corrosion.

Special cleaning:

• Glue and fiberglass residues can be removed with 100% acetone (e.g. nail polish remover).
• The scissors can be disinfected in an autoclave , but they are not designed for sterile use .

Deep cleaning and disassembly:

• The scissors can be disassembled using a Torx T15 bit by removing the middle bolt.
• Remember the correct assembly order .
• The mini cutter (6") cannot be disassembled - if a problem occurs, we recommend servicing or sharpening .

Sharpening:

• You can sharpen the scissors yourself or have them sharpened by a professional, as needed.
